Late Night Dine and Drink - 3 Late Night Spots to Get Your Drink On

When you’re out in the #city with your mates, the atmosphere is everything when choosing which bar to hop to. Luckily, the #Sydney #CBD is scattered with eccentric and unique bars that will indeed show you a good time. I’ve compiled a run down of my top three late-night spots for #drinks in #Sydney that I think showcase some of the most unique concepts, #drinks and vibes.

Frankie’s Pizza By The Slice

This Hunter Street staple is revered by #Sydney’s night crowd due to its endless stream of slices, #drinks and #live tunes. Descend down from the bustling #city streets into an underground haven of live #rock #music, #pinball machines and tucked-away booths for the true experience of a dive-bar #pizzeria. Frankie’s #pizza slices are made fresh in-house and can be enjoyed as a slice, or as a whole pie to share with friends. Be sure to also get your #drink on here, as it is a #bar after all. When ordering a vodka with orange juice, I was pleasantly surprised to see the bartender throw a few fresh oranges in a juicer for me, making my #drink taste that much better. Unfortunately, Frankie’s is set to relocate by the end of 2022 to make way for the Hunter Street Metro Station. Fear not though, as this place is too iconic in the #Sydney #nightlife scene to be gone forever, but I recommend taking a quick visit to the OG location before it's gone forever.

El Camino

Whilst decent Tex-Mex can be hard to come by down under, El Camino will surely be able to satisfy your longing for bowl-sized margaritas and loaded tacos. Conveniently located adjacent to The Argyle Hotel, you can stumble out from this joint onto the bustling streets of The Rocks or dive headfirst into the #club after a few #drinks. El Camino is extremely popular on the #weekends with #Sydney’s youth, as there’s nothing to get you more in the mood to party than tequila flowing through your blood and pumping #music. El Camino also takes pride in hosting engaging weekly #events, such as 4-6 PM happy hour, $2 taco Tuesdays and half-price fajitas on Thursdays. As a uni student, I am never more thankful than when venues offer #affordable #drinks and #food. Be sure to also catch El Camino's spring #event, Ritapalooza, celebrating everything we love about the Margarita with an extensive drink list and new taco flavours. I can’t think of a better way to kick start summer than with a 1 metre #argarita tasting paddle - can you?

Ramblin’ Rascal Tavern

Going back to the underground, it seems to be apparent that some of #Sydney’s best #drink spots are hidden in the shadows. Ramblin’ Rascal Tavern is no exception to my theory as I have had some of my best evenings out at this #bar. Wedged in between a convenience store and a karaoke #bar, you may feel a bit awkward scouring the street for the entrance to this joint, however just keep your eyes peeled for the security guard and he will be sure to help you get in on the action. Stepping down into the tavern, be sure to feast your eyes on the wall of local and imported spirits that bartenders may even need a ladder to navigate. At Ramblin’ Rascal, each bartender will take great pleasure in whipping up your favourite classic #cocktail, and ensure that your drink quality is a step up from your average #bar. You can also be adventurous with their house-specialty #cocktails - my favourite includes the Ripe and Ready with Hennessy, sweet vermouth, creme de cacao and cherry for a truly complex flavour. Take your #drink over and sink into the plush booths dotted around the shadows of the #bar and soak in superb #live #music from the central stage, with classic #rock tunes to deep #blues every week.
