If you’re anything like me, you hate #Sundays because you can’t have fun the day before the work week kicks off! Gone are the opportunities to party hard until 6 am and most #clubs have shut their doors till at least Wednesday anyway. I had this bleak mindset until I stumbled across a new event kickstarted by Ivy, where you can bask in the humid summer rays with your feet in the water and a #mojito in your hand like you’re at a #beach #club in Bali. Going to the #rooftop of the Ivy to participate in the first week of Pool Sundays, an afternoon pool #party that will be running for the length of #summer is something that should be moved to the top of your bucket list as a way to cool off from the sweltering Sydney heat and experience a classic pool club in the heart of the #city.

With entry starting at $15, Pool Club Sundays is a great deal for any #students or workers looking for decently priced entry to a #club on the #weekend and is similarly priced to Ivy’s other events. Whilst the #cocktails up top are a feast for the eyes and a refreshing accessory for the poolside, that Sunday surcharge will sneak up on you so be careful - my friends and I discovered that sharing a cold bottle of white was a much better way to enjoy our afternoon.
We paired our #drinks with freshly made wood-fired #pizzas available to order which teleported our tastebuds all the way to the Mediterranean coast. The afternoon sun can get quite harsh so wearing swimmers is a must - free towels and showers are provided at the event. Once it begins to cool down make your way to the dance floor to enjoy a rotation of upbeat #disco tunes. Nevertheless, it IS a Sunday after all, and you have work tomorrow. The pool party officially ends at 9 pm however, if you want to risk a mean Monday morning hangover, Ivy is running Lost Sundays in the main #club downstairs for you to stumble down to. Be warned though, your soul may feel extremely lost by starting off your week this way.

Overall, Pool Club Sundays is a refreshing take on one of the #CBD’s most renowned and elegant #nightclubs. Whilst defiantly more expensive and involved than a typical night in the club, nothing beats the Sunday Scaries by grabbing your mates and dressing up in your finest beachwear and swimsuits to go to the middle of the #city and laze around the #rooftop pool, drink in hand of course.
