The CBD’s Classiest Happy Hour: Bar Pincer at Restaurant Hubert

There’s no better way to spend your early evening after a long day at work, university or out and about in #Sydney than with cheap drinks and good company. Luckily, there is a wide range of restaurants and bars that offer excellent mid-week happy hours so you can keep the festivities going every day of the week! With so many places to choose from these days, however, I understand that it can get a bit overwhelming. Therefore, allow me to introduce Restaurant Hubert to your radar, located in the heart of the #CBD. For some extremely friendly prices, you can order all the wine and quality french appetisers you can eat!

Nestled below the bustling streets of the #CBD’s financial district is Restaurant Hubert - an intimate and sophisticated venue that captures the electric vibe of urban dining. When making your way down the plush staircase, passing by the hundreds of #wine bottles and #spirits on display towards the growing ambience of jazz, you can guarantee that your night in the city is going to start with a bang.

Sectioned off towards the entrance of the venue is Bar Pincer, where a happy hour runs daily from 5 pm to 6 pm. I highly recommend rocking up right at 5 pm, as this isn’t one of Sydney’s best deals for a reason. I and 4 other friends made the mistake of arriving at 5:30 assuming we could get a seat and only managed to squeeze into a booth at 5:55 pm thanks to the generosity of a few strangers and the attentiveness of the waitstaff. Thus, prepare to wait in a bit of a queue to snag a space at the bar.

In terms of what the deal offers, you will be pleasantly surprised by $6 wines, Dubonnet Highball, Gin & Tonic and even a $10 Negroni which is almost impossible to find in Sydney these days! For bites, the duck liver parfait for $8 was a delectable highlight that was easily finished by the 5 of us. The highlight of the meal, however, was the $18 Normandy Beef burger with gruyere, house sauce and a dill pickle. This was one of the best burgers I have ever had in Sydney due to the high quality of the ingredients and the expertise of the chefs at this venue. So run, don’t walk to Restaurant Hubert after work so you can secure your spot for one of Sydney’s most generous happy hours.
