Oxford Street’s Stop for Techno: WeLove Sydney #394

There are countless communities in #Sydney dedicated to organising and promoting the best #nightlife possible. WeLove Sydney is one of those groups that promote such #events with a focus on #techno. From boat #raves on the harbours to electric nights on the dance floor, let's dive deep into what makes WeLove Sydney so special.

The event that I was lucky enough to attend, was a weekly techno night at the Burdekin Hotel on Oxford Street. Straight away, I believe that any event run on Oxford Street is bound to be a good one as the precinct is quickly becoming Sydney’s new #nightlife hotspot. The Burdekin Hotel sits right at the edge of Oxford St, near the #CBD. The historic venue features a classic 1840s exterior, so it's hard to miss.

Even from outside, you can hear the faint beat of the music to lure you in. Whilst there are multiple levels to the Burdekin Hotel, the event is held in the ground level main room. Once inside, you’re met with the brilliant flashing of strobes and the constant beat of #techno fills your ears. #Drinks can be purchased inside the venue and there is adequate stool and lounge seating for when you want a break from the dance floor.

WeLove aims to bring in a new guest #DJ every Friday night, ranging from upcoming local sensations to internationally renowned artists. The guest DJ for tonight was Adiel Mora, a Chilean DJ based on the Gold Coast. When questioned about how he draws inspiration for his tracks, Adiel links his influence to other genres such as Jazz and Soul. The night was scheduled to present a blend of classic techno and house techno. If you’ve never attended a techno club before, I highly recommend you try it as it is a very different experience from other genres. There is an upbeat, constant and almost relaxing vibe created over the dance floor that truly connects the music to those on the dance floor.

For those who wish to party a bit longer, WeLove Sydney also hosts marathon #raves at the Bridge Hotel, you will find yourself partying till long after the sun has risen here. You can also find #techno parties on the water with WeLove Sydney’s frequent boat parties.

Therefore, for your next night out in Sydney, I encourage you to consider the magic that is techno, and there is no better group to take you on this experience than WeLove Sydney.

    • His reputation for killer parties did not stop there, he started dedicating himself to exclusive gigs and launched his own music production in collaboration with other DJs and published in beatport.
