ABOUT THE WORLD LOCALS

World Locals is a modern travel guide for people who want to understand a place, not just collect a list of things to do.

We create practical, considered guides to cities, neighbourhoods, food, experiences and itineraries, helping you work out where to go, what’s worth your time and how to build a trip that actually suits you.

Too much information. Not enough useful judgement.

Planning a trip has never given us more options.

There are thousands of guides, reviews, recommendations, videos and saved posts waiting for almost every destination on the planet. Finding information is easy. Working out which of it is genuinely useful is considerably harder.

World Locals was created to make that process simpler.

Our guides are designed to filter rather than overwhelm: explaining how a city works, which neighbourhoods suit different trips, where to eat, what deserves your time and why certain places are worth understanding in the first place.

Because a good travel guide shouldn’t leave you with another fifty tabs open. It should leave you with a better idea of what to do next.

THE STORY BEHIND WORLD LOCALS

I’m Charlie, the founder of World Locals.

I’ve travelled to 42 countries and counting, and somewhere along the way I noticed something slightly inconvenient: despite the extraordinary amount of travel information available, planning a genuinely good trip still takes a surprising amount of work.

There’s rarely a shortage of recommendations. The challenge is understanding which ones suit you, how different areas compare, what’s actually worth prioritising and how everything fits together once you arrive.

World Locals grew from wanting the kind of resource I was already looking for myself.

Something more useful than an endless list of attractions, more substantial than a thirty-second travel video, but easier and more enjoyable to use than a traditional guidebook.

The result is World Locals: a growing collection of travel guides built around better research, clearer choices and a genuine curiosity about what makes places worth experiencing.

42 countries have given me plenty of ideas. There are considerably more still on the list.
